Cary Listed as One of the Best Places to Live in the U.S. 2016

In what should come as no surprise to anyone who lives here at the Sedgefield new home community or anywhere else here in Cary, with its endless entertainment, arts, and culture options as well s its reasonable cost of living, great employment opportunity and safe and friendly neighborhoods, that the town was the top North Carolina municipality listed and recently named in the  “Money” section of time.com as number 36 across the entire country among the Best Places to Live in the U.S. 2016.

As a precursor to the in-depth listings on each of the top 50 municipalities that were named to the Best Places to Live in the U.S. 2016 list, the Money website explained, “For this year’s search for the ultimate hometowns, we analyzed 60 key factors: taxes, education, health care, and more.” Specifically speaking of Cary’s inclusion to the Best Places to Live in the U.S 2016 rankings, the experts at Money were complimentary of all facets of life in the town, saying, “Cary is a bedroom community with easy access to the shops, sports, and entertainment of a bigger city. And while living outside and away from the city might seem like a hassle, this distance comes with perks.” Continuing in their praise of the town they placed number 37on the list of  the Best Places to Live in the U.S. 2016, the piece goes on to speak of the opportunities that can be had in Cary, saying “A solid schooling system, a safer community, and increased opportunities for job growth mean living in the smaller town pays off. As part of the Research Triangle of NC State University, Duke University, and the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, there are also major employers based in the smaller town, like SAS, which employs over 5,000, or sectors of companies like Fidelity or Verizon.” Lastly, touching on the town’s natural beauty, rich culture, and plentiful entertainment options, it was said that, “Cary also has some of its own attractions, with 39 greenway trails and a massive nature preserve. Regular seasonal festivals, like a bluegrass series or Chinese lantern festival contribute to the community camaraderie. The town is also home to the North Carolina Symphony in the summer, which lights up the town with outdoor concerts in warm weather.” With employment rates and jobs continuing on a rapid increase and expected to continue and a reasonable cost of living, it would seem that the town of Cary could be seeing itself  not only included among the Best Places to Live in the U.S 2016, but also for a long time beyond this calendar year.
